History and Campaigns: - The 7th Gebirgsjager Division was created by converting the 99th LightInfantry Division to Gebirgsjager status. This was done in November of1941.
- The 7th Gebirgsjager Division was in Germany until it was moved to Lapplandin February of 1942. The Division spent the entire war located in theLappland area of the Far North, until the Axis pulled out of the region backinto Norway. The Division stayed in Norway until it surrendered to theBritish in May, 1945.
